It is a new milestone for the company from Büren: after a planning and construction period of more than two years, a new packaging line including a conveyor bridge was opened at the beginning of September. Many internal and external guests attended an official opening ceremony to celebrate the project, which involved a total investment of EUR 2.4 million.
A second packaging system has now been invested in to ensure that the finished masterbatches produced by ARGUS can be filled into the respective packaging even more automatically in future. The new system is technically much more efficient than the existing system. In addition, the new filling unit can be moved to the side via a slide system so that different types of large-volume packaging, such as octabins, can also be filled automatically. If sacks are used for filling, fully automatic palletizing takes place in the nearby production hall. The bags are transported via a conveyor line, which also includes the new cross-hall conveyor bridge. In total, a bag of finished material travels around 125 m from the filling station to the palletizer before being stacked on pallets and securely packed for transport. The newly constructed 14-ton bridge was a particularly complex aspect of this project, because as a connecting element between two production halls, the fire protection requirements were extremely high. Close cooperation with local companies was necessary to realize the entire system – a total of 18 different companies from the region implemented the construction and assembly project together with ARGUS. Burkhard Schwuchow also warmly congratulated the company on its investment in the site. He also emphasizes that ARGUS and the municipality have been working together as partners and as equals for years.
ARGUS Additive Plastics GmbH is an important pillar in the employer environment at the Büren industrial location. ARGUS is a specialist and competent partner in the development and production of additive and color masterbatches, supplying high-quality products for the plastics processing industry. Since its foundation 29 years ago, the company has grown significantly: With a total area of over 115,000 m², the equivalent of around 15 soccer pitches, ARGUS is one of the most space-intensive companies in the city area. To ensure that ARGUS can continue to grow in the future, the company offers attractive training and career opportunities in various areas and is looking forward to welcoming committed new members to the team.
