Since the beginning of January, ARGUS has been using a new ZSE 40 iMAXX twin-screw extrusion machine from Leistritz. Wilfried Helle from ARGUS explains, ”We were looking for a system at short term that we wanted to use in our technical centre for the further development of compositions”. He points out, “Leistritz reacted very quickly here and offered us an ideal solution in a short time." With the ZSE iMAXX series, Leistritz Extrusionsechnik GmbH offers twin-screw extruders that are perfect for use in masterbatch production.
The new twin-screw extruder is not only technically convincing, but also requires only relatively little energy with qualitatively very good homogenisation. In addition, the ZSE 40 iMAXX extruder is characterised by a high degree of flexibility and can efficiently realise product changes during experiments. This plays an outstanding role in masterbatch production in particular. "We were therefore looking for a machine that not only had to convince in terms of technology, but also in terms of flexibility," says Wilfried Helle. "Another positive aspect of this extruder for ARGUS was the small space requirement," explains Guido Kraschewski, Head of the Recycling Competence Centre at Leistritz.
